The flooding last August from Hurricanes Irene and Lee significantly damaged over 1,000 homes in the Bloomsburg, PA area.  This is prompted 10 members from Advent to spend the week as volunteers for Lutheran Disaster Response with Agape Love From Above in Bloomsburg. The mission: to help two families whose homes were water-soaked — floodwater up to their doorknobs — and in need of repairs from the ground up!

Epiphany – Come, Behold the Light! PDF Print E-mail

During the season of Epiphany, we celebrate the appearance of the Light that was born on Christmas – Jesus Christ.  It begins with the Magi making their way from other parts of the world to see the one born King.  It continues with Jesus’ appearing at the Jordan to be baptized by John and to hear God’s affirming voice:  “You are my Son, the beloved.”
