Mid-Life and Beyond
It has happened so quietly and quickly that many folks did not even notice it. The baby-boomers have come of age!
Many folks are caught in the “sandwich generation” — caught between children and aging parents. Others are looking at the flood of issues that come with retirement — healthcare, taxes, housing, etc. The number of people in mid-life and beyond makes up almost 40% of our population today.
At Advent, we provide an opportunity for this new group that has emerged. We gather about three times a year on a Friday evening at 6:30 for soup/salad dinner, discussion, and fellowship in Fellowship Hall.
On October 23, 2010, we will focus on “Finances, Faith, and the Future.” Pastor Steve will be our resource person. In February 2011, just before income tax time, we will focus on “Taxes – Why, How, and Who?”
Prime Timers
As persons grow older, some folk need to gather for fellowship around a lunch. On the first Monday of each month, Advent provides an opportunity for seniors to have lunch together, usually at a local restaurant. |
