For generations, the people of Advent have continuously served people in communities near and far in a variety of ways.

Some of our missions:

- Sponsoring a missionary in Africa for the past 20 years.

- Recently, members came to the aid of a family from Liberia brought here to safety to start a better life.

- Members embarked on trips to devastated Katrina hurricane areas to rehabilitate damaged homes, taking time to offer prayerful encouragement and support to families.

- Closer to home, Advent work crews have hammered, built and painted, transforming sheet rock into new homes for appreciative people needing a lift.

- Providing support to numerous causes of Lutheran Charities at home and abroad.

- Supporting World Hunger Appeal.

- Collecting and distributing goods for local food banks and clothing drives.

- Providing Thanksgiving dinners for those in need.

- Providing transportation for people needing a ride.

- Assembling and distributing care packages.

- Leading the Prayer Chain.

- Collecting and distributing gifts for families and individuals in need through through the annual Christmas giving tree. 

- Our Busy Hands group uses its creativity and talents to make handmade items for our homebound, newly baptized, our altar, and much more.

- Health Ministries mans blood drives, flu shots, and blood pressure screenings.  

- Manna-to-Go provides meals for Advent members in time of need.
