Advent embraces a liturgical approach to worship and music.  In worship the congregation fully participates in the liturgy (the work of the people) as worship assistants, lectors, communion assistants, acolytes, crucifers, choir members, cantors, and instrumentalists.   Worshippers who do not have a leadership role participate in responsive prayer, liturgical song, and hymns.

Singing & Instrumental Opportunities

Chancel Choir
Leads the congregation in song at Sunday worship and presents special musical selections throughout the year. Open to adults and high school students. Rehearsals on Thursdays, from 7:00 to 8:30pm.

What to Expect Sundays PDF Print E-mail

You can expect to be involved in a worship experience that matters. At Advent, worship lies at the heart of how we understand our life together. You will be welcomed. You will be provided a worship folder so you can comfortably participate. Professional child care is available if that would make your worship time more comfortable for you.

You can expect to be involved in a common worship pattern each week. At Advent, each week we gather as God’s peopleWe are encountered by God’s word. We share a meal at the Lord’s Table. And at the end, we are sent out into the world forgiven and renewed. Thus, worship at Advent is really not about what we do, but about what God is doing and our response to God’s action.
