Compassion Camp

Monday, August 3 - Friday, August 7, 2026

from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Extended care is available until 3:00 PM Monday - Thursday

Ages 3 (must be potty trained) through entering 5th grade

As we look around the world, what becomes clearer each day is our deep need for compassion – now more than ever. Each of the five sessions has a central scripture passage about the day’s theme. Compassion Camp’s goal is to cultivate compassion for each other, ourselves, and the world.

During VBS, children will be assigned by grade/age to a small group. As a small group they will travel around for various activities including story time, snack, music, crafts, and recreation.   

VBS Important Information

• For children ages 3 (must be potty-trained) through entering 5th grade
• Monday through Friday, August 3 - 7, 2026, 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. 
• Registration opens Wednesday, April 8 and closes Monday, July 13. A $10 per child donation is due by August 3.

Extended Care Important Information 

• We have reached capacity for our extended care program. We have created a waitlist. We are hoping to accommodate more children once we confirm we have adequate staffing.
• If you are interested in being put on the waitlist, please register using the VBS Registration link above. You will receive an email confirming your status for extended care. Extended care is available Monday through Thursday until 3:00 pm. 
• Our Extended Care Program is a fundraiser for Advent's Youth Fund. If your child(ren) are participating in the Extended Care Program, we are asking for a separate donation to this fund. Our youth work very hard during VBS and Extended Care and honestly, we could not do it without them! We thank you for your generosity to support their continued faith formation. Advent's Youth Fund supports our youth to attend servant trips, retreats and summer church camp.

VBS Registration and Extended Care Donations can be paid online here; mailed to Advent Lutheran Church, 470 Landis Road, Harleysville, PA 19438; or brought to VBS. Please mark "VBS" on your check/envelope.

VBS Volunteers

Interested in volunteering at VBS? Youth (entering 6th grade and older) and adult volunteers are needed for a successful VBS. All adults age 18 and older are required to have their clearances. All youth and adults are required to sign a Volunteer Covenant and abide by Advent's volunteering guidelines.
