We enter April during Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday (March 29), runs through Maundy Thursday and Good Friday (April 2 & 3), on to Easter Sunday (April 5). But Easter is not just one Sunday but a season of seven Sundays that extends into May. Then follows the third major festival of the church year, Pentecost (May 24).
