Singing & Instrumental Opportunities

  • Chancel Choir

Leads the congregation in song at Sunday worship and presents special musical selections throughout the year. Open to adults and high school students. Rehearsals on Thursdays, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

  • Sunday Church school Choirs

Children learn songs for Sunday services and how they connect to the liturgical year. In weekly rehearsals, they also learn fundamentals of music, movement, and dance. They're also introduced to playing handbells, chimes, and percussion instruments like the djembe and guiro.

    • Confirmation Class - Youth in grades 7 and 8 participate in worship by ringing handbells or playing various percussion instruments.
    • Junior SCS Choir - Children in grades three to six during worship once per month.
    • Cherub SCS Choir - Children age three through second grade learn some favorite new songs and sing during worship once per month.
  • Instrumental Accompaniment & Ensemble

Musicians  are invited to sing or play their instrument by leading liturgy and hymns, or expressing their talents in a special ensemble. Rehearsals are on an as-needed basis. We especially encourage our young musicians to participate.

  • Concerts at Advent

Advent enjoys several concerts per year, presented by outstanding musicians from around the Harleysville region.

Some of the groups who have performed are The Souderton Men's Chorus, Melissa Freilich (flute), The Perkiomen Valley High School choirs and jazz band, The Souderton Area High School Choir, "Seasons" Celtic band, Jazplash and Pete Smyser with Ted Lis.
