Social Distancing and Covid-19

At Advent, we have decided that our actions are not going to be based on "what is legal," but rather, what is medically wise, socially responsible, and living out our Christian call to love our neighbor. Starting in December 2021, we returned to indoor worship and activities; please see our Worship page for further details.

All along, we have conducted our church worship and ministry activities in a safe manner and adjusted our practices as CDC, state, and local guidelines are updated.

At the present time (as of January 1, 2024), based on current CDC recommendations, Advent’s council has approved the following masking policy for worship and events:

  • The wearing of masks is now optional in the church building for all worship services, meetings, and events.
  • People may wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk. Please be considerate and respectful of those who choose to continue to wear masks.
  • While we continue our current policy of masks optional, we invite people to be aware of the status of COVID-19, RSV, influenza, and other communicable diseases in the community, and to consider temporarily returning to masks when applicable. This is especially helpful when in larger gatherings like our worship services.

We will continue to utilize other safety measures such as opening windows and running ventilation fans. And we will continue to offer the on-line worship service, for those who may not yet be ready or able to attend in-person worship, and also for those who are out of town or otherwise unavailable on Sunday morning. We encourage anyone that is eligible to get the vaccine and we request that if you are sick that you refrain from attending any in-person service until you feel better.

We will continue to evaluate our policies over time and communicate any other changes if necessary. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding over the past four years as our faith community has had to adapt to doing things in creative and different ways.

If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Mark (610-513-2096)

The livestream worship service is now part of what we do in the “new normal”. Hybrid meetings happening in-person and with a Zoom option will be part of that “new normal” too. We are moving forward and we invite you to participate. With the "pandemic" portion of the COVID-19 experience past, we hope to see more of you participate in-person at worship, team meetings, youth activities, and other events that will be happening over the coming months.

Our livestream worship service is available on YouTube every Sunday starting at 8:30 am (9:30 am during the summer and on special occasions such as holiday weekends).  If you can't join us live, that's okay... watch it when you are able; it is available to join in progress, restart, or stream at your convenience.  Click here for our full YouTube Playlist for Worship. This link provides access to all of our streamed worship services.  Our weekly communications, various resources for food, mental health, and more are available on our Member Area.
