JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2026
With the New Year (on the calendar; the Church year began with the first Sunday of Advent on November 30) begins the season of Epiphany. The word means an appearance or manifestation, and in our context it marks the first appearances of Jesus: The arrival of the Magi from the East, Jesus's baptism, and the beginning of His ministry. The Epiphany season continues through Transfiguration Sunday on February 15. Ash Wednesday on February 18 marks the beginning of Lent, which continues through Holy Week and leads into Easter (April 5).
Also the New Year marks Advent's Annual Congregation Meeting on Sunday, January 25. There will be one worship service at 9:30 am, followed by the Annual Meeting at 10:45, and a luncheon thereafter.
